We’re currently experience something of a blizzard here in Yorkshire but we’re keeping warm indoors. I’ve been busy this past week measuring, dyeing and winding these new ten colour self striping balls. I’ll be adding a sample knit too soon if your unsure of the finished look I’ll be casting on in the next couple of days. I’m really happy with the colours they’re bold but not garish. I’d recommend 2.5mm needles for this sport merino yarn.

Heres a super secret preview (it’s not up on instagram yet) of a yarn I’m working on, Ombré! It’s perfect for a hat project, I’ll be working on adding new colours to the two I’ve dyed up already. What colour would you like to see as an ombré yarn?

I hope it doesn't seem too faddish to be adding a few fun quotes onto my feed.  I know how genuinely good for the soul it is to be more mindful of our everyday (including each other) and how crafting can help eliminate all the stresses of the day whether that is a tiny perfectly formed set of 2mm DPNs or an object taking form through the motion of our hands. Whatever you decide to create do it with love and enjoy!

The ten colour self striping yarn, wow! its taken me a few days from measuring out the base yarn which is a sport merino sock yarn to dyeing each of the 10 colours to this stage for its Instagram debut. Ive yet to hand wind it into a beautiful ball and knit a sample up myself. Its a really long process creating a yarn thats ready to use with so many colours but its not something you can buy just anywhere and for me thats what handmade is all about, luxury products that are made well, something that we see less and less of on our high streets. This yarn is great for warmer socks, boot socks or those fabulous brioche knits i'm so obsessed with at the moment.

Books are a new addition to the shop Im only selling publications i personally have an interest in and i can say quite confidently this is a brlliant addition to your knitting catalogue. The toys are fun and quirky, Ive admired Donna Wilsons work for a while now (and oggled photos of her workshop online). Fun projects that dont require a large amount of yarn to complete that would be great as gifts too. I hope to be casting on the fox myself soon (its on the ever growing 'to knit' list).
